Position Summary Overview

 PGT English



As a PGT English teacher, you will be responsible for teaching English to senior students (Classes 9 to 12) following the ICSE/ISC curriculum. You will work with students to enhance their proficiency in English language and literature, preparing them for board exams while fostering a deeper appreciation of literature and effective communication skills. Maintaining English speaking environment inside the class room and within the campus is the first and foremost responsibility of a PGT English.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Plan, prepare, and deliver English lessons for Classes 9 to 12, adhering to the ICSE/ISC syllabus.

  • Teach a range of English topics, including English language, literature, and composition, using varied and engaging teaching methods.

  • Provide detailed explanations of literary works, encouraging critical analysis and discussions.

  • Regularly assess and monitor students’ academic progress through assignments, exams, and projects.

  • Offer personalized support and guidance to students, especially in preparing for board examinations.

  • Foster a positive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and effective communication.

  • Encourage students to develop a passion for English literature and improve their writing, reading, and speaking skills.

  • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.

  • Actively participate in school events, co-curricular activities, and extracurricular programs.



Qualifications:




  • Master’s degree in English (M.A. in English).

  • B.Ed. degree with teaching experience, preferably in the ICSE/ISC curriculum.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills.

  • Deep knowledge of English literature, language, and grammar.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their academic potential.
