Position Summary Overview

The Academic Head is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all academic activities within an educational institution. They provide strategic direction, leadership, and support to faculty members, ensuring the highest standards of academic excellence, curriculum development, and student success. Must play a critical role in shaping the academic identity and reputation of the organisation, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the success of Trainees and the organisation.



 



Key Responsibilities:




  1. Academic Leadership:


    • Provide visionary leadership to drive academic excellence and innovation across all departments and programs.

    • Develop and implement academic strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance the quality of the course and meet organisational goals.

    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, research, and scholarship among faculty members.



  2. Curriculum Development:

    • Lead the design, development, and evaluation of curriculum and content to ensure relevance, rigor, and alignment with industry standards and accreditation requirements.

    • Collaborate with team members to create new courses, programs, and learning experiences that address emerging trends and meet the needs of students.



  3. Faculty Management and Development:

    • Recruit, hire, mentor, and evaluate Trainers and SME’s to maintain a high-performing academic environment.

    • Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to team members to enhance teaching effectiveness, research productivity, and career advancement.



  4. Academic Quality Assurance:

    • Oversee academic assessment and evaluation processes to monitor and improve student learning outcomes, program effectiveness, quality of the delivery and institutional performance.

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices in higher education.





 




  1. Student Success/ Satisfaction:


    • Collaborate with student support services to promote student engagement, retention, and success.

    • Good knowledge in LMS

    • Implement initiatives to enhance student learning experiences, academic advising, and career development opportunities.



  2. Institutional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with other academic leaders, administrators, and stakeholders to advance institutional priorities and initiatives.

    • Foster partnerships with industry, government agencies, and community organizations to enrich academic programs, research opportunities, and student learning experiences.



  3. Budget and Resource Management:

    • Develop and manage the academic budget in alignment with institutional priorities and resource constraints.

    • Allocate resources effectively to support faculty development, research activities, curriculum enhancements, and student success initiatives.

  • Curriculum development aligned with Industry standards.

  • Content development and updating.

  • Updated knowledge about current trends in IT.

  • Good knowledge about LMS

  • Excellent Communication and writing skills.

  • Expertise in Data Science, Cyber Security, Full stack development or IOT will be a added advantage.



Required Qualifications:




  • A doctoral degree/ Master’s degree (M.Sc, MCA, M Tech) in the field of Computer Science from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 10 years of Previous academic experience, preferably in a higher education setting.

  • Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, faculty management, and academic quality assurance.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and promote a culture of inclusivity, innovation, and academic excellence.
